Harry Houdini Reproduction – Water Torture Escape

In stock

The Greatest Magician of all Time performs the elusive Chinese Water Torture Tank Escape

I painted this reproduction back in April in 2008 while performing as a Magician’s Assistant.

Magic has always been something that fascinated me and this particular poster I saw quite frequently as a child.  I would visit Niagara Falls and the Harry Houdini Wax Museum to marvel at all the posters and chains and devices he used to do his great escapes.

This particular marquee used to scare me as a child and I decided that I would reproduce it to finally get past that ‘fear’.  It was very exciting to paint actually when everything started coming together with pictures and lettering.  This was enjoyable to do and a very unique style.
